Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Avery Crynock and Madilyn Skebeck Lead Glendale to Victory

Juniata Valley came into Tuesday's matchup looking for another win against Glendale, but Rachel McClellan wouldn't allow it. The Vikings came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hornets on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2 thanks in part to McClellan, who had 20 kills, eight digs, and one block. McClellan is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season.

Glendale took Juniata Valley into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-20, 25-23, 23-25, 15-13.

Leading Glendale to victory were Madilyn Skebeck and Avery Crynock. Skebeck had nine blocks and five kills, while Crynock had 14 assists and ten digs. Those nine blocks gave Skebeck a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hannah Matish, who had 15 assists.

The win made it two in a row for Glendale and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for Juniata Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Glendale will host Everett at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Juniata Valley, they will face off against Moshannon Valley at 7:00 p.m. on the 18th.
