Liberty faced Palo Verde in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Patriots blew past the Panthers 3-0. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Panthers back in August, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

Liberty never let Palo Verde on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 27-25, 25-21.

MYLA MATAVAO paced Liberty's offense, picking up 15 kills. MATAVAO got some help from ADDISON JONES and her 35 assists. ALEXANDRIA WALKER controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Liberty has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Palo Verde, they dropped their record down to 9-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Liberty and Durango will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Palo Verde, they will head out to challenge Faith Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
