Recap: Lamesa Tornadoes vs. Slaton Tigers
If The Lamesa Tornadoes were feeling good off their 41-19 takedown of the Brownfield Cubs last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lamesa fell to Slaton 20-14. Lamesa was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Slaton apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Despite the loss, Lamesa still got an impressive performance from Pedro Barrioz, who rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns.
Lamesa's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Slaton, their win ended a eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-7.
Lamesa will take on Denver City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Slaton, they will head out on the road to face off against Kermit at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kermit is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
