Softball Recap: Pamlico County Takes a Loss

Pamlico County blew East Carteret out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday East Carteret got their revenge. The Hurricanes fell just short of the Mariners by a score of 6-4. It was the first time this season that the Hurricanes let down their fans at home.

Kylee Morris was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Kyliah Barber was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Pamlico County's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 11-5. As for East Carteret, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season.

While Pamlico County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
