Basketball Game Preview: Moses Brown Quakers vs. Rogers Vikings

The Moses Brown Quakers will take on the Rogers Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Moses Brown's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Moses Brown is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Burrillville, who was ranked 14th at the time (Moses Brown was ranked fifth). Moses Brown walked away with a 77-65 victory over Burrillville on Friday.

Moses Brown found their leader in sophomore Otis Crosby, who went 6-for-11 from beyond the arc to rack up 38 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crosby has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Donovan Clement, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards.

Moses Brown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 17 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Rogers had no trouble coming through when it counted. They beat Middletown on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 67-42. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Islanders: they've now won four in a row.

Moses Brown pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Rogers, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.

Moses Brown strolled past Rogers in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 55-40. Will Moses Brown repeat their success, or does Rogers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
