Aaron Keesee and Andrew Ploetner made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Keesee didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Ploetner pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Faith Christian Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-6 otherwise. At bat, Keesee got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while Ploetner went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Owen Parker was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Patrick Ploetner also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
As for Timberlake Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-10 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since March 19, 2024.
Like Faith Christian Academy, Timberlake Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Aaron Higey. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Higey was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, David Crump made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Faith Christian Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
