Edgerton had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the North Central Eagles on Friday as they made off with an 18-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Corinne Cape made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Edgerton got a massive performance out of Peytyn Baker, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Baker has posted since back in April. Casey Everetts was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Edgerton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Edgerton is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for North Central, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-11 record.
