The Tigers were trailing Kerman 22-19 Thursday with less than a minute to go in the opening round of the CIF Central Section Division IV playoffs. Quarterback
Dontreon Smith evaded the rush, rolled to his right and heaved a Hail Mary downfield.
The Kerman defender dropped a would-be interception while falling backward and Paul was in the right place at the right time. The versatile athlete kept his concentration and completed the game-winning 60-yard touchdown reception.
Wasco survived with a heart-stopping 26-22 victory and will battle Selma in the quarterfinals next Friday.
