Soccer Game Preview: Oakwood vs. Buckley

The Oakwood Owls will take on the Buckley Griffins at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Oakwood is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering AGBU just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Titans by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 650th, while the Titans are ranked 257th).

Meanwhile, Buckley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of de Toledo.

Buckley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7-2. As for Oakwood, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1-1 and their overall record down to 7-4-1.

Oakwood beat Buckley 2-0 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oakwood since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
