Basketball Game Preview: Prout Crusaders vs. Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights

Prout has gone 7-1 against Exeter-West Greenwich recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Prout Crusaders will square off against the Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights at 8:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Prout comes in on four and Exeter-West Greenwich on 11.

Prout is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They took down North Providence 51-35.

Prout's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Seneca Fielding, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 15 boards, and Lauren Gill, who went 7-for-14 on her way to 16 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Fielding a new career-high in rebounds. Sophia Hipsman was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, Exeter-West Greenwich faced Central Falls in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Exeter-West Greenwich came out on top against Central Falls by a score of 38-26.

Exeter-West Greenwich found their leader in sophomore Kate Hebert, who posted 14 points along with seven boards and seven steals. Hebert is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed five or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Niniola Olawuyi, who put up 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Prout pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points over those games. As for Exeter-West Greenwich, their win bumped their record up to 21-3.

Prout was able to grind out a solid victory over Exeter-West Greenwich in their previous meeting back in January, winning 49-39. Will Prout repeat their success, or does Exeter-West Greenwich have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
