Baseball Recap: Friona Comes Up Short

Friona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 10-1 to the Littlefield Wildcats. The Chieftans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in March of 2018.

Friona saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Rosales, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases. Those three hits gave Rosales a new career-high.

Friona's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Littlefield, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

Coming up, Friona will face off against Idalou at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Littlefield, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Littlefield Wildcats face off against Slaton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Slaton has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.4 runs per game on average), something Littlefield will no doubt try to take advantage of.
