Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Howell). They claimed a resounding 51-0 victory over the Canton Cobras. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Highlanders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Cobras are ranked 311th).

The win made it two in a row for Howell and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 14 points in those games. As for Canton, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Howell will face off against rival Hartland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Highlanders 12.8, the Eagles 13.6) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Canton is set to challenge their familiar foe Northville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
