Basketball Game Preview: Camden County Wildcats vs. Lowndes Vikings

Camden County hasn't had much luck against Lowndes recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The two teams will face off at 6:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Camden County is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Camden County will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Tift County, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Camden County came out on top against Tift County by a score of 50-40 on Friday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 130th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Camden County can attribute much of their success to Tytionna Scott, who went 8 of 17 en route to 17 points and six boards. Scott continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mahliya Reeder, who went 5 for 12 to rack up 13 points.

Camden County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Lowndes didn't have quite enough to beat Richmond Hill on Friday and fell 42-39. The matchup marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Camden County's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-6. As for Lowndes, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-4.
