Basketball Recap: South Terrebonne's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

South Terrebonne won the last time they faced Centerville, and Sa'Niah Stokes did her part to make sure it happened again. The South Terrebonne Gators blew past the Centerville Bulldogs 74-30 on Monday thanks in part to Stokes, who went 12 for 15 en route to 32 points along with seven steals and five boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Another player making a difference was Makaya Verdin, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. Verdin is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

When it comes to explaining why Centerville lost, don't look at D?Irieyah Mitchell. Despite the final result, she posted seven points in addition to ten boards and six assists.

South Terrebonne moved to 12-9 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Centerville, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-13.

South Terrebonne has already played their next match (against A.J. Ellender), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Centerville will be playing in front of their home fans against Jeanerette at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
