Lynbrook extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-13. They lost 19-1 to Palo Alto. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Palo Alto this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 back in March.
Lynbrook saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Audrey Lee, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.
As for Palo Alto, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-3. The result was nothing new for Palo Alto, who have now won 14 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
On Palo Alto's side, Samantha Prabhu and Kira Tzeng were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Prabhu struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Tzeng pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. At the plate, Prabhu got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, while Tzeng went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elle Martin, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Claire Kissane, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
