Softball Recap: Tecumseh Wins Going Away Against Skyline

Tecumseh's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Skyline Eagles. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Mae Mattson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Mattson was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

In other pitching news, Ella Sattler looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, Tecumseh got a massive performance out of Maya Juozapaitis, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Juozapaitis has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lauren Kilbarger, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Tecumseh always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Skyline only posted an OBP of .320.

Tecumseh's record is now 4-5. As for Skyline, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Tecumseh will head out on the road to take on Monroe at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Skyline, they will host Whitmore Lake at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
