Basketball Recap: St. Paul Lutheran Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

Herculaneum came into Monday's match looking for another win against St. Paul Lutheran, but Julie Lunsford wouldn't allow it. The St. Paul Lutheran Giants came out on top against the Herculaneum Black Cats by a score of 68-59 on Monday thanks in part to Lunsford, who posted 21 points. Those 21 points gave her a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Kelby Detring, who had ten points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

The victory made it two in a row for St. Paul Lutheran and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for Herculaneum, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

St. Paul Lutheran will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lesterville at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Herculaneum will take on West County in a holiday battle at at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
