Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Nathen Kinser and Nick Tolbert Lead Beaumont to Victory

Beaumont won the last time they faced Moreno Valley and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cougars came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 50-41.

Leading Beaumont to victory were Nick Tolbert and Nathen Kinser. Tolbert went 5-for-8 on his way to 14 points in addition to eight boards and five steals, while Kinser almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Tolbert now owns an excellent 46.7% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Davien Mitchell, who posted 11 points.

When it comes to explaining why Moreno Valley lost, don't look at Alijah Maloid. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 13 points and 17 rebounds. Zyetice Hayes was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Beaumont's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Moreno Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beaumont will welcome Coachella Valley at 6:30 p.m. on December 1. As for Moreno Valley, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on California Military Institute at 7:00 p.m. on December 2.
