Soccer Recap: Granite City Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Granite City was not quite Howell's equal in the second half on Monday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. Abby Knight was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on her (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Granite City's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-4. As for Howell, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-5 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Granite City will take on Edwardsville at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Howell, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lafayette at 4:15 p.m. on May 5.
