Baseball Recap: New Buffalo Comes Up Short

New Buffalo lost against Michigan Lutheran on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bison might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-4 to the Titans, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Bison have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Vaughn Nikkel was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season. Colten Lijewski also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

New Buffalo's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Michigan Lutheran, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Buffalo will host Climax-Scotts at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Michigan Lutheran, they will be playing at home against Paw Paw at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Wolves will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Titans surely won't give up without a fight.
