Sudan was handed a 23-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Crosbyton Chiefs 11-9. For the Hornets, this counts as revenge for the 18-14 victory the Chiefs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2022.

The team relied heavily on Andrea Williams, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Daniella Ramirez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Sudan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .682. They are undefeated (7-0) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Sudan is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Crosbyton and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Sudan will challenge Morton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sudan is facing Morton at the right time seeing as Morton is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Crosbyton, they will take on Ralls at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crosbyton has given up an average of 11.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
