Soccer Game Preview: Hardee vs. Frostproof

Hardee and Frostproof are an even 4-4-2 against one another since December of 2015, but likely not for long. The Hardee Wildcats will head out to square off against the Frostproof Bulldogs at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Frostproof better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Hardee really get things going. Everything went Hardee's way against Okeechobee on Wednesday as Hardee made off with a 4-1 win. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Meanwhile, Frostproof kept a clean sheet against Sebring on Thursday. They blew past the Blue Streaks 5-0. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Blue Streaks are ranked 479th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory (which was Frostproof's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-6-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four matchups. As for Hardee, their record now sits at 6-2-3.

Hardee might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Frostproof when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Hardee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
