Basketball Game Preview: Marshall Rams vs. MacArthur Brahmas

Marshall and MacArthur are an even 3-3 against one another since November of 2018, but not for long. The Marshall Rams will venture away from home to square off against the MacArthur Brahmas at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Marshall and four for MacArthur.

On Tuesday, Marshall came up short against O'Connor and fell 76-63. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 631st, while the Panthers are ranked 252nd).

Meanwhile, MacArthur played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 82-39 loss at the hands of South San Antonio. The Brahmas were down 62-25 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

MacArthur's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Marshall, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.

Marshall came up short against MacArthur in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 59-51. Can Marshall avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
