Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Shrine Catholic

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Catherine of Siena Academy, Shrine Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 56-39 victory over the Cabrini Monarchs. The win was all the more spectacular given the Knights' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while the Monarchs are ranked 94th).

Shrine Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Cabrini, they moved to 6-1 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Shrine Catholic will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bishop Foley at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st. As for Cabrini, they will host St. Catherine of Siena Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
