Football Game Preview: Roosevelt Eagles vs. Slaton Tigers

The Roosevelt Eagles will take on the Slaton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Roosevelt is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Friday. They lost 49-28 to Littlefield.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ricardo Perez, who rushed for 165 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 64 yards. Another back making a difference was Jaden Zuniga, who rushed for 132 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Slaton entered their game against Idalou on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Tigers were dealt a 41-6 defeat at the hands of the Wildcats. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Slaton's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. As for Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
