Basketball Recap: High Point Comes Up Short

High Point was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a 54-6 loss at the hands of the Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Raiders are ranked 110th).

Eleanor Roosevelt's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from McKenzie D'Antignac, who posted eight points in addition to six steals and five assists. D'Antignac has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Alease Heath, who went 6 for 9 en route to 14 points and six rebounds.

High Point's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Eleanor Roosevelt, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-6.

High Point has already played their next game, a 58-6 loss against Flowers on the 31st. As for Eleanor Roosevelt, they will host Wise at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
