Football Recap: Community School of Davidson Spartans vs. West Iredell Warriors
Community School of Davidson had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They breezed by the West Iredell Warriors on the road to the tune of 38-7 on Friday. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Warriors are ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Community School of Davidson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jake Johnson, who threw for 347 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per attempt. Sam Mack was Johnson's top target, picking up 137 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Community School of Davidson will look to defend their home field on Friday against Charlotte Country Day School at 7:00 p.m. As for West Iredell, they are taking a road trip to challenge West Caldwell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
