Basketball Recap: Freeport Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Freeport won the last time they faced Laurel Hill, and Julius Miles did his part to make sure it happened again. The Freeport Bulldogs strolled past the Laurel Hill Hoboes with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 74-57 thanks in part to Miles, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 17 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Freeport's points.

Dameyan Martin was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Those three steals gave him a new career-high.

The win (which was Freeport's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-5. As for Laurel Hill, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freeport will welcome Bozeman at 1:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Laurel Hill, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Northview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Laurel Hill is facing Northview at the right time seeing as Northview is stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
