Football Recap: Rex Bryson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Centralia over Monroe City

After flying high against Clark County last Friday, Centralia came back down to earth. Centralia took a 38-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Monroe City on Friday. Centralia was not able to make up for their defeat to Monroe City from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rex Bryson, who rushed for 104 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries. Another back making a difference was Chase Kempker, who rushed for 76 yards and one TD.

Having lost for the first time this season, Centralia fell to 3-1. As for Monroe City, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Centralia is set to face off against their familiar foe Macon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Monroe City will take on rival Clark County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
