It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Gahr ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Downey Vikings 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Gladiators: when they faced off against the Vikings back in March, they had to take a 7-6 loss.

Bella Gonzalez spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on 12 hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kayleigh Allen, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Gahr's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Downey, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Gahr is set to take on their familiar foe Warren at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Downey will face off against rival Mayfair at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
