Baseball Recap: Mount Abram's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Mount Abram dropped their record down to 9-3 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the St. Dominic Saints by a score of 7-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Roadrunners of the 4-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Bryce Wilcox and Killian Pillsbury did some serious damage despite the final result: Wilcox went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Pillsbury went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Wilcox is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ash Rollins, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

As for St. Dominic, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6. Seven seems to be a good number for they as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

On St. Dominic's side, Curtis Wheeler was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Jacobi Apodaca also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Abram will host Madison at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Bulldogs have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for St. Dominic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Buckfield at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
