Soccer Game Preview: Ballantyne Ridge vs. Hopewell

The Ballantyne Ridge Wolves will face off against the Hopewell Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ballantyne Ridge took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Olympic a 9-0 shutout. The high-scoring effort was just what Ballantyne Ridge needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Their offense was hitting Olympic from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Quinlan Foster led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Hopewell had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Raptors. Give Hopewell's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Hopewell's win bumped their record up to 5-3-2. As for Ballantyne Ridge, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-5.
