Basketball Game Preview: Ocoee Knights vs. Evans Trojans

The Ocoee Knights just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Evans Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Ocoee took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They strolled past Altamonte Christian with points to spare, taking the game 60-42.

Meanwhile, Evans posted their biggest victory since December 27, 2023 on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Eustis 75-32. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Panthers are ranked 81st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ocoee's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-9. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Evans, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Ocoee came up short against Evans when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 63-55. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Evans' Arosco Dubois, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds.
