Volleyball Recap: DuQuoin Takes a Loss

DuQuoin lost against Carterville two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Indians took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

DuQuoin was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23.

Lainey Vancil paced DuQuoin's offense, picking up seven kills. Vancil were helped by McKenzie Eaton and Kenadie Hutchens, who contributed ten assists each.

DuQuoin's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Carterville, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-6.

Coming up, DuQuoin will welcome Red Bud at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Carterville, they will venture away from home to challenge Herrin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
