Volleyball Recap: Patton Wins Going Away Against Mcdowell

Patton's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the McDowell Titans with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The victory didn't come easy: McDowell scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-18, 25-22.

Patton can attribute much of their success to Carly Setterlind, who had 17 digs and two aces.

Setterlind wasn't the only good server: Patton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive contests.

Patton now has a winning record of 3-2. As for McDowell, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Patton will head out to take on East Burke at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McDowell, they will venture away from home to square off against T.C. Roberson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
