Softball Recap: Burges Comes Up Short

Burges fell victim to El Dorado and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the El Dorado Aztecs, falling 15-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 11-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Burges saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Annaliese Avina, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

This is the second loss in a row for Burges and nudges their season record down to 9-11. As for El Dorado, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burges will venture away from home to challenge Socorro at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for El Dorado, they will head out on the road to square off against Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
