Volleyball Recap: West Oso Bears vs. Taft Greyhounds
West Oso was the 3-0 winner over Taft when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bears lost 3-0 to the Greyhounds on Friday. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Taft scored at least 20 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-20, 25-21.
Alivia Shaw paced West Oso's offense, picking up 11 kills. Shaw got some help from Desiree Torres and her 26 assists. Torres also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Tyonna McClary, racking up two apiece.
West Oso's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Taft, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Looking ahead, West Oso will square off against Odem at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Taft, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Tuloso-Midway at 5:00 p.m.
