Soccer Recap: Goddard Takes a Loss

After flying high against Portales last Thursday, Goddard came back down to earth. The Rockets fell just short of the Lovington Wildcats by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Goddard haven't been shut out since back in September.

Goddard has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9-2 record this season. As for Lovington, their victory bumped their record up to 3-11-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Goddard will challenge rival Artesia at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Lovington is set to square off against their familiar foe Portales at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
