Soccer Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Midd-West

Midd-West kept a clean sheet against Greenwood on Saturday. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 2-0. Given Midd-West's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Greenwood are ranked 129th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wyatt Nelson and Connor Stoltzfus scored both of Midd-West's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

The win was the third in a row for Midd-West, bringing their record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Greenwood, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midd-West will welcome Lewisburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewisburg's defense has only allowed 0.2 goals per game this season, so Midd-West's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Greenwood, they will face off against Juniata at 6:20 p.m. on Monday.
