Basketball Recap: Conway Takes a Loss

Conway played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 58-14 defeat at the hands of the Carolina Forest Panthers. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-2.

Despite the loss, Conway had strong showings from Rebecca Hemingway, who posted nine points, and Ahchiya Hill, who scored five points and five steals. That was a full 64.3% of Conway's points, marking the third time in a row Hemingway has had more than a third of the team's points.

Carolina Forest's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but London Delong led the charge by to rack up 17 points. Those 17 points gave Delong a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Danyri Legette, who earned four points in addition to seven steals and five rebounds.

Conway is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18. As for Carolina Forest, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-3.

Conway has already played their next game, a 51-14 defeat against Westwood on the 17th. As for Carolina Forest, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-44 victory against West Ashley on the 20th.
