Baseball Game Preview: Packer Collegiate Institute Pelicans vs. St. Ann's Steamers

The Packer Collegiate Institute Pelicans will head out to take on the St. Ann's Steamers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

St. Ann's will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Packer Collegiate Institute extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. The Pelicans never let Avenues The World School get on the board and left with a 13-0 win.

Brody Coraine looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Griffin O'Connell, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Corbett Yaggy was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

St. Ann's came out on top against Leman Manhattan Prep on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 13-run third inning. The Steamers were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Bull. The Steamers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Packer Collegiate Institute's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-5-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for St. Ann's, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 8-1-1 record this season.
