Basketball Recap: Southeast Lancers vs. Crest Lancers
The Southeast Lancers fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Crest Lancers on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 39-38 to the Lancers. Southeast was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Rogan Weir was his usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with two steals for Crest. It was the first time this season that Weir scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Golden, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Southeast's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Crest, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Southeast will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Yates Center comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Crest, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
