Volleyball Recap: University Extends Winning Streak to Four

University waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Parkersburg South Patriots. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in August.

University walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the fourth set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 27-29, 25-17, 25-15.

Avery Bland paced University's offense, picking up 13 kills. Bland got some help from Alexis Oravec and her 21 assists. Bland also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Maggie Panson, racking up three apiece.

University's record is now 17-5-2. As for Parkersburg South, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, University and Parkersburg South will both be playing Wheeling Park the next time they take the court. The Hawks will head out to face the Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Patriots will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
