Springfield Catholic won against Republic last Thursday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Fighting Irish beat the Central Bulldogs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-2. The win was familiar territory for the Fighting Irish, who have now won five matches in a row.

Springfield Catholic pushed their record up to 18-10 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season.
