It was a good run, but Sexton unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 74-50 to the East Lansing Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Big Reds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Trojans are ranked fifth).

Cameron Hutson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 15 boards for East Lansing. The dominant performance gave Hutson a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelvin (KJ) Torbert, Jr., who posted 16 points and six rebounds.

Sexton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for East Lansing, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Sexton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 92-45 win against Lakewood on the 7th. As for East Lansing, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 73-63 victory against De La Salle Collegiate on the 29th.
