Basketball Recap: Johnson-Brock Eagles vs. Sacred Heart Irish

After a string of 17 wins, the Johnson-Brock Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 67-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sacred Heart. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

When it comes to explaining why Johnson-Brock lost, one person who can't be blamed is Taryn Ottemann. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Ottemann is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Behrends, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.

Johnson-Brock's defeat dropped their record down to 17-2. As for Sacred Heart, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Johnson-Brock will be playing at home against the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sacred Heart will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Indians on February 8th.
