Soccer Game Preview: Avon Park vs. Clewiston

The Avon Park Red Devils will head out to face off against the Clewiston Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Avon Park will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Friday, then bounced right back against DeSoto County on Monday. Avon Park never let DeSoto County onto the board and left with a 5-0 win. Considering the Red Devils have won six contests by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Clewiston sidestepped Immokalee for a 2-1 victory. Even though the Tigers got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Jaylin Velasquez was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Kamyrin Herring and Bailey Berner scored both of Clewiston's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Avon Park is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4-1 record this season. As for Clewiston, their record now sits at 5-3-3.
