Basketball Recap: Vacaville Drops Season-High Score on River City

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Vacaville). They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the River City Raiders 74-72. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since December 29, 2023.

River City lost on Wednesday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Deon Clay, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Those 13 points gave Clay a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyrone Orr, who posted 22 points.

The win made it two in a row for Vacaville and bumps their season record up to 2-15. As for River City, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Wood the next time they take the court. Vacaville will head out to face Wood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while River City will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
