The Fort Morgan Mustangs will face off against the Platte Valley Broncos at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Fort Morgan is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

JJ Marquez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, Angel Lopez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadin Carrera, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Platte Valley). Everything went their way against Liberty Common on Wednesday as they made off with a 19-9 victory. The result was nothing new for the Broncos, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Platte Valley got a massive performance out of Jeremiah Molinar, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. What's more, Molinar posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Hudson Flummerfelt was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Platte Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Platte Valley's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Fort Morgan, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Fort Morgan has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. However, it's not like Platte Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .440. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
