Football Recap: Homestead Comes Up Short on the Road Against South Dade

Homestead had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a blow against the South Dade Buccaneers on Friday, falling 31-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Broncos have suffered against the Buccaneers since August 30, 2019.

Jacob Villa threw for 37 yards on five of 11 attempts.

Andrew Simonns had a dynamite game For South Dade., rushing for 160 yards and two scores while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Andrae Sierra was another key player, throwing for 114 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

South Dade has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Homestead will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Southwest at 7:00 p.m. on the 11th. As for South Dade, they will host Norland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
